John Terry, CPA

John is the Founder and Managing Member of JT Accounting & Consulting.

Prior to forming JT A&C, John served as the first Corp Controller at Cable One, Inc. (NYSE: CABO) where he established the SEC reporting and SOX compliant processes up to and extending beyond their IPO on July 1, 2015.

Prior to joining Cable One, John completed 14 years in public accounting with PWC, Grant Thornton, and BDO. There, John gained significant experience in SEC reporting, audits, and technical accounting. John has experience in several industries including financial services, entertainment and media, retail and consumer products, technology, manufacturing and distribution, and professional services.

John also completed national tours in the audit methodology groups at Grant Thornton and PWC. At PWC John completed a two-year tour with that Firm's Global Audit Methodology Group in San Jose, California where he helped design and build the technology tool now used by that Firm's audit practice across the world. After completing his design tour, John helped create and organize PWC’s US Implementation Team for the new technology tool and developed the related policies, procedures, and process improvement initiatives. On that team John was tasked with identifying and resolving implementation challenges for which there was no known solution. He is a subject matter expert in the areas of audit methodology, risk management, auditor training, policy setting, system design and implementation, and user acceptance testing.
